This years KGill Events will begin on Friday June 15th at 5:00 pm with Dinner, Drinks and Calcutta at the Enzi house. The tournament will be at the Airport golf club, Saturday June 16th with check in at 11:00 am and the tournament at 12:30. We will have the awards following the tournament on the deck for those of you who can still stand. Entry is still $800.00 per team so please contact your team captain from last year to get your entry in. We will have new shirts this year as is tradition, they will be very tacky so don't miss out as the field is limited. This year's tournament is going to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Cheyenne's new building.
The K.Gill foundation was organized for the purpose of keeping the memory and spirit of our friend Kevin Gill alive and to continue in his generous ways.
Kevin was taken from us at the age of 44 on August 28th 2009 on Quandary peak in Summit County, Colorado. He left us the same way he lived his life, full of zest and striving to conquer new challenges. In his life he was generous to all who knew him and always had a good word for everyone he came in contact with.
Kevin enjoyed the game of golf as this gave him a chance to see old friends, make new ones, and have a beer with anyone who was within earshot. Anyone who knew Kevin knew that this was his favorite time. This gave him a chance to introduce his new friends to his old friends. We know; as we’ve experienced that on many occasions and it’s how we have gotten to know many of the people who are involved in the tournament and the Foundation itself.
This is what motivated us to bring people together to raise funds for others who need a little help and what a better way to do this than a golf tournament that gives us all a chance to meet new people, see old friends, and drink a few beers.
This is what Kevin would have done!
We lost a dear friend, brother, father and all-around great guy on August 28, 2009. To honor his memory in an ongoing way, a committee has been formed to raise money for organizations and projects that Kevin would have liked.
